Seeds of South Australia website is a portal to a web-based database established by the South Australian Seed Conservation Centre. It provides a way of searching for research quality images of plants endemic to South Australia including their distribution within specific geographical regions. The database has a number of search methods including specific filtering of a plant scientific or common name as well as browsing for a particular plant genera or family. You can also filter for a geographic area defined by the Natural Resource Management (NRM) , Interim Biogeographic Regionalisation for Australia (IBRA), and South Australian State Herbarium Regions.
The South Australian Seed Conservation Centre was established by the Botanic Gardens of Adelaide in 2002. For more than a decade the Centre has been helping to conserve South Australia’s threatened plant species and support on ground restoration.
The Botanic Gardens and State Herbarium of South Australia is a State Government statutory authority as defined by state legislation. (Botanic Gardens and State Herbarium | About)
